At the Academy you receive continuous one-on-one coaching to refine your skills until you can train all key behaviors quickly and reliably.
The hub of our community is our online Academy Cafe but there’s nothing we like better than regular in-person get-togethers and as a new student you will be warmly welcomed.
Your first order of business will be getting to know your fellow-students in the Cafe, joining study groups and partnering with study buddies. These will be your ride or dies for two years and often beyond. Some of you will get married to each other. It’s a tight community.
Sarah is the head training coach at the Academy. She will guide you step by step as you learn the mechanical skills needed to train multiple skills on multiple dogs quickly and effectively. She is warm, wise and astute. Jean has called her “one of the best trainers I’ve ever seen.”
Video coaching is a precision teaching tool that allows our coaches to analyze your technique frame by frame, multiple times over and at slower speeds, to identify precisely what you are doing right and what your next steps will be to progress. The analysis can be even more precise by comparing your existing video submission to a previous one to gage your progress.

We teach you using a variety of methods to keep you inspired, including online lectures, webinars, interactive quizzes and myriad discussions.
Academy staff hold weekly office hours where you may receive one-to-one guidance and counseling, including after you graduate.
Each level in the program has its own dedicated study group, in which staff participate in discussions and answer questions.
We have multiple platforms for discussion and debate, and we connect in person in towns and cities all over the country and even around the world. We truly are an international family.
