Position Summary: ARF’s rescue efforts are directed toward encouraging and facilitating adoptions. The Dog Trainer assists in reaching the Behavior Department’s goals by supporting adopters in dog training classes, with a focus on enhancing the human/animal bond to keep families together. ARF’s Dog Trainers also assist in attaining department goals by providing pre and post adoption training support to adopters, including veterans enrolled in ARF’s Pets for Vets program. ARF’s partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS) aids veterans whose emotional health would benefit therapeutically from having an emotional support animal.
Position Summary: ARF’s rescue efforts are dependent on the intake and adoptions of cats and dogs. The Intake Specialist assists in reaching department goals by acquiring highly adoptable rescued dogs and cats and assessing and maintaining their behavioral health while in ARF’s care.
